To those with the Nitto: how are they in very deep snow? Any experience? Thanks.

I have the Terra Grapplers on 18s and the answer depends entirely on the snow and your definition of "deep." 5 inches of wet, heavy crud is not what I would call deep, but I've had mine out in that shit more than a couple times and they tend to pack up if the temperature is in the mid 20's or 30's. I wound up stuck for a couple hours on one trip and nearly walked out.

I've also had them out in a foot of dry fluff and they were respectable, but the temperature was in the single digits, if not lower. They did a decent job of blasting through. If you frequently drive in deep snow your best bet is something with studs, but I gather from your post you're looking for a 12 month tire.

they got their molds out of the continental plant,but are trying to pump out the popular stuff first...trxxus, irok, etc. the m16 is in limited sizes, but they are a good tread. cross betwen boggers and tsls, but made more so for street and weekend trail riding.

I always thought the ssm16s look like the old thornbirds. I know they were starting off by bringing back the atv tires and made the black mambas. I would like a set of ssr's but haven't heard if they have gotten their truck molds back from continental...thanks for the update.

Justin, I'll measure the 34x10.50s tomorrow, They are about the same size as KM1 255/85s when I set one up against michaels way back when, but definitely not a rolling 34.

I like the nitto muds, good looking tire.

put the pipe down, wait 15 minutes, get the smoke out of your eyes, then measure. an ltb 34x10.50 is about 33.5. trust me i know.
now, step up to a real tire, for example a Q78-16, interco says 35.5x10.50, but measured at 39 psi, sitting under 5800 pounds measures 36 spot on.

but if we are talking semantics, yes interco's sizes are all over the place....but WHEN i idle thru a mudhole, with my IRregular sized swamper, onl;y to winch a TRUE 35" out...who gives a turd?

i don't get too caught up in 1-2 inch differences as long as the tire works. ive had two sets of Q78's and they always measured over 35".
