I've been having trouble with death wobble.

It happens between 45-55 mph

What I've done...
replaced all bushings
replaced tie rod ends
got an alignment
checked and tightened wheel bearings

my tires are very cupped and ill be picking up a new set tomorrow. I hope this finally fixes things.

Any thoughts....ive been battling this for a while now and if new tires (balanced) don't fix this, i will be clueless1

thanks

That's not what a steering stabilizer is for.
It could be your really bad tires, but I'd lean towards swivel preload, depending on how it occurs. Light swivel preload usually shows up when you hit a bump, or let off the accelerator.

How're your front shocks, had a wobble at that speed and did everything you've done except changed them. Did that and cured the problem.

where i'm at right now, duh...
it's not that hard at all... I replaced the top swivel pin bearings and set the preload a while back and it was easy. It's just a matter of a little guess and check with the right set of shims to set the preload.

Another quick thing to check are the bolts for the panhard bar. They need to be very tight. If you can move the bar at all when at rest then tighten them up till it doesn't move any more.

I just rebuilt my front swivels. The bearings were toast. Replaced upper pins and all the bearings and seals. Not to hard plus PT save my bacon with a usedABS sensor, mine was destrroyed by the upper pin bearings. Drives great. :D

i currently don't have a stabilizer, and if i put one on will it solve the problem? i was waiting to order a new one for the front until i fix this wobble problem.
