Hello all,

Just out of curiosity I was wondering what percentage of people have steel wheels and what percentage have the stock alloys installed

Sooo I just thought I would take a little poll :)

I went for a second set of 'offroad alloys'. Ebayed for only two hundred including shipping(sometimes you can score on ebay). A buddy of mine bought some steels for his DII and as I recall someone equated them making his truck look like a "black panther taking a s**t " due to the increased offset, ie wider stance. Plus the steelies are heavier. Anyway, the ebay deal turned out to be so good that it was cheaper to buy a second set of alloys.

Good way to go IMO. I currently have the stock alloys but when I get the lift and tires I will get a different set of rims and run the two set of tires. Those bigger tires are pricey (relative to what I get paid :D ) I figure having the two sets will save me some $$$ in the long run.

I wish they made an alloy that would allow you to access the hub like the steel ones do. Thats the best thing about them.

The alloys also keep a tricked out truck still looking half classy rather than get that full on army look. Black wheels are very militant.

That is a great idea! I wonder if it would be possible to cut the center and make a custom center cap?

I have also heard that some aftermarket HD axels do/don't work with either Alloy/Steel.

Anyone know which are/are not compatible?

GBR works unless you have an 87 , 88 , 89 RRc on stock aluminum wheels and even they fit but you have to take the center cap out and it looks very hokie.

I run these, except the lug nut were replaced with the steel after a day.
