The GBRs work with steaal AND alloy correct?

Dan, hows your luck been with the Trxus?

I am not all that happy with the wear or ride, but they do grip decent.

I have had good luck with the Trxus tires. They don't last forever, but whats really to be expected.... I just got two more last week. I have never cut one or lost a bead and usally run at 15-18psi. I would have gone BFG MT's this last go around, but I figured if I went with the Trxus again, I would have plenty of spares.

D, just wondering about the 255/85 truxus your running..... Do they clear the factory rear bumper using the factory spare mount? Or do you have a mod bumper/mount? Also, what is the "on the truck" real world height of them.. Web site says 32.7 inch tall and I'm wondering if that is correct or not.

Easy E,

I would say the Trxus were the advertised 32.7" on a 7" rim.

I have a 2" body lift and the tire did clear the stock bumper, but I would not count on it fitting with out the body lift. I'm sure you can alter the spare tire mount to make it fit. I have a different bumper now and have about 1" clearence.

Both, so I can't vote :p .
Wolf wheels with my off-road tires, alloy with my stock tires. Probably putting a set of Nokian Hakkapeliitta 10LT on the alloys this winter.
Supposedly the alloys stand up well to abuse off-road, but I'm a luddite ;)

Steel wheels (sounds like a Stone's album- do ya' think Mick has a LR!?) Steel is the way to go- offroad. Oh, Eric a truxus 255 will fit on your stock rig but its close. Here a pic with a stock bumper and one with my homemade bumper.

Thanks Discojunky! Since the 265/75 and 255/85s are only like a dollar apart from each other I think I'll probably get the 255's... I'll probably be kicking myself next trip that I take since I'm running stock gears but, it shouldn't be that much worse then the 265's that I have now.. It's only about inch taller.

you won't regret the tires, but they WILL suck with stock gears ;)

Ya, I know... Sad thing is that I have gotten used to the disco with the 32s and I already have to put it in third to get up any kind of mountian on the highway. Still though, since they are the same price I'll think about it a little.. Not sure if I want to push my CVs any more then I already am either. But, at least the larger size will fit on the rear carrier if I do go that route which is what I was wondering about.

Eric, my 98' was running strong when I put the 255's on and I went straight from stock to the 255's and it really wasn't too bad. But, if you live in the Moutians (like I do) or are heavy footed they will push you towards higher gears like Marc said. I added the 4.11's and it really complements the setup. But, I would say buy em', run em' and when(or if) you can regear and you won't go wrong.

You could give www.gulfcoastrovers.com a call. They have AR steel wheels in a couple of sizes. 16x7 ones are 61 bucks each.. They do have a slightly different offset then the stock ones do though.. That's where I got mine from a couple of years ago.
