well LR dealers don't want anything to do with these vehicles. many are not even offering them as used vehicles, because of their lust for flatbed tow trucks.
where you will find them is on the auction lots for little more than a used Dodge Stratus.

No true. There are lots of Freelanders around here including the dealerships. And they are in the 15 to 18K price range................

well that ain't true here on the east. i deal with Land Rover dealerships quite frequently with my work and i know of several that refuse to sell Freelanders on their lot. they go immediately to auction.
it's not worth the trouble to deal with such troublesome vehicle.

Freelanders selling for $18K. what fucking morons you have Washington. lol. they sell at auction for a fraction of that.

yeah, if you check the land rover in peoria illinois they don't have any used freelanders. i did a search on cars.com for used freelanders within like 250 miles of where i live and there are hardly any within 100 miles and hardly any in land rover dealership lots. i'll be lucky if i get 9,000 for mine selling it myself. that sucks considering i still owe 15,000. (i was a little upside down on my previous trade in). i paid 16,000 for it two and a half years ago.

yep it's unfortunate for those that own them and want out. no one wants them......not even dealerships.
i use to see them at auction and over half the time they never got a bid.

harsh reality is that not many wanted them when they were new and even fewer want one used.

When the Freelander was first introduced in the US, I remember reading that it had been sold in the UK for years. In fact, I think I read that it was the most popular SUV in Europe.

So what gives? Do the Brits just accept lemon vehicles as a fact of life or is the NA Freelander different in some way?

you are correct. it was the most popular SUV in Europe. and that means what? the Mercury Lynx sold well here in NA too. the NA Freelander was not offered as a diesel either. something the Brits have embraced for some time.

but as they say there is a sucker born every second. the Freelander proved itself as a huge turd for the most part. lots of people have enjoyed them, but far more have wished they would catch fire.
