if i may pine in here.. i think some of the difference in understanding is that long long ago, the dweb was a different place. any of us that were around from 99 on remember that place, and enjoyed that place. this is a different place. unless one has that perspective, it would be hard to understand what all the fuss is about. if you find jack harsh now, you should have been around in the days of john lee and kyle. as a young lad i was handed an ass whipping by both of them and in reality, it taught me alot. this wasnt a place for soft skinned little ninnies. [not saying that any of you of are] its not like that anymore and as everything else, it evolves. sometimes in the wrong direction.

so it seems that some of us (because i'm sure it's more than just JSQ that feel this way) feel that there is too much fluff and not enough tech. fine. people have pointed out that this is the "general bs" section but i suspect that part of the issue that people have is with the e-credibility that is associated with post counts. a lot of the die hard originals have their posts built in the tech sections where it really is the most useful. they probably feel that their e-credibility is diluted by people that just use the board to chat-not that there is anything wrong with that. some funny shit goes down on the general board.

so, anyhoo, why don't we stop counting posts made in the general section and only count posts made in the technical, camping, and tools sections? that way, for people like JSQ (and i know there are others, so calm down) that feel like the board and their input is diluted, the post counts will more accurately reflect those who have contributed.

seems like a good idea to me. :D

Hey, I remember you too, Aaron. That twinkle in your eye, the way your tent was set up just so, the sun setting behind your disco across from the pond....(sigh) ;)

Hey come on now, Steve was web stalking me, all I wanted was a sticker, and he sets his tent right next to me, Nomar is eyeballing me from afar, and Curtis emails from Utah telling me he is coming to town. Staci will set the record straigt, she knows I am sexy. :D

What sort of a retard are you?

You start blurting about how you can't stand me and then invite me to go to Africa with you?

You sound like your life is a daily mental and physical struggle with Tourette's.
That shit is no joke, so if you can't control your body, then just let us know and I for one won't give you a hard time about it.

If that's not the case and you haven't been diagnosed, then go fuck yourself.

You're the worst kind of this new wave of mindless worthless dwebbers.

You don't know shit.
You don't do shit.

And worst of all you don't aspire to either.

You will leave her just as dumb and useless as you arrived. You can't fix a LR, you don't wheel a LR. You've made it clear that's not ever going to change.

This may be the General section but my comments apply to the whole board. It used to be that the General was an area where the same regular particpants of the tech and other forums could talk about General topics. It wasn't inhabited exclusively by losers and poseurs who didn't post anywhere else. Is this still a fucking LR board or not? Is it just one big General internet web chat with a little side order of LR?

I joined Dweb in 2001 or was it 2002?

Either way, it's part of the reason I found my Disco and knew what to look for when buying it. And Gil was one of the people that helped me early-on.

Kyle was mean, but funny. John Lee was awesomely mean AND funny. I'm sure Jack and Ho and John all hate my being on here, but ... I haven't left yet. I might be the ONLY woman STILL on here actually! ;)

I was and I'm still here. Ya, it's different.. A lot different.. Things happen that way.. Just doesn't bother me that much since I pick and choose what I read here.. Sure I'll fluff things up in the general section but, it's the general section.. I don't even really go into the tech section as much for the simple fact that almost every issue my 98 D1 could have has been covered and I can find it by just doing a search.. Sure every once in a while some thing new pops up in there like the new GBR CVs with the ABS rings but, for the most part it's the same thing over and over again..

Anyways, I tried to walk away from here a couple of years ago and I actually did for a while but, I came back.. I just couldn't stay away. People change, opinions change, things move on.. Maybe what Les said will happen and maybe it won't.. Guess we'll find out if we decide to stick around.

Hell, did that make any sense?

no friend.. actually thats not what im saying at all. what im saying is there are people that know more then you, and more then me. and in the past when people wrote BS.. they were called on it. and we all learned from it. this is no longer a learning forum. its a social hang out.. and thats fine, if thats what your into. these people arent my friends.. jacks not my friend, neither are you. they are people who share an interest in a similiar hobby. and this site used to revolve around that hobby. and honestly, i know things in africa are a little different, but this isnt a lovey dovey, lets hold hands world. if your offended by jack, or while i find it hard to imagine, myself.. then maybe you need to reflect on your insecurities.

I agree! I know a few fixes for D1 and Classic, and most of those are at least 8 years old... All the fixes have been done. Other then posting lame stuff, I'm thinking my usefulness here is done. Hell, I dont even have a Rover anymore.:bigok:
