Susannah,
I seriously can't believe you are going to stick your neck out on this one.
You seem nice enough and you seem to like LRs, but I have no choice but to call you out on your post.

What I find the most interesting about this "current state" and this thread in general...
is that JSQ called ME out for posting a number and I have since moved on... some 140 posts have been made since then and you guys are BOTH still here 'discussing' the world.
I used your post of a # as an example. We both know it was one of many like it. That makes you just as guilty as the rest, but it doesn't single you out in any particular way. You, however, have elected to take offense. Why is that?
Well it's quite simple. Because you know that my posts about the state of dweb hit very close to home for you. I'm talking about the general populace, but we both know everything I have written applies to
Roverlady.

Here's what happened to Dweb...we all got such good information from each other that our trucks are running fine and we need time to bs. Not to mention the fact that we are all busy at work and don't get to wheel as much as we'd like, but want to stay connected to other Rover people. This month, I will see my LR friends more at casual, social outings than I will on the trail. I see nothing wrong with that!! AND it's winter so we are all spending more time indoors than we would like. I'm sure the general section will calm down this summer.
LOL.
What a pathetic defense.
Your truck is running fine?
You're too busy at work?
It's winter?
What else you got?
We all know that these trucks always break down at the same perpetual rate. They didn't all magically get fixed because we are all just so darn smart and have told each other everything there is to know about LRs or because
Chris St. Louis showed up. The only difference is that as the years have passed and the trucks have gotten cheap, the vast majority of dweb trucks are beaters now. That means when the shit is falling apart, nobody cares. Nobody even notices because the trucks are so fucked up to begin with. No one hardly ever posts the head gasket questions that were so prevalent in the old days, because now they just let the fucker leak like a sieve and top up the coolant every day.
Everyone's too busy with work? Well I see people finding the time to post. I also still see people finding the time to go out on trips. But it's the same people who always have made it out. The same people who ACTUALLY offroad.
Guess what?
You're not one of them.
You don't offroad. You go to MAR.
MAR is fine (if that's your bag) as your social rally in between real trips. But if MAR is all the "wheeling" you do, you're just a poseur. Face it Sus, you're not an offroader. Dont' start make excuses for it. It only makes it worse. I don't remember reading about a single trip you've ever done. Not one. Just MAR or maybe Uhwarrie or something. I haven't even seen a pic of you on a dealer run.
It's winter so no one is wheeling?
That might be true for you, but it's no excuse for the majority. Out West this is primetime. I hardly go out in the summer. It's too hot. I'm sure the same is true for the Utah boys. Oh that's right, they actually offroad. This is no East vs. West battle. This is just me calling you out on a bullshit excuse. Right now people are going to the Maine Winter Romp and I'm sure the likes of dchapman and the ECP are out in the cold and mud doing whatever it is they do. There's not shortage of opportunities wherever you are or whatever time of year it is. If you love it and you live it, you'll find a way.

I like to read just about every section here and don't bother with too many other forums on the net. I will occasionally read some posts from another place, check EE for the latest trip pictures, read Rangerovers.net for tech advice and look at the ROAV forum and home page. But I'm not involved in conversations on any other forums and I don't think it wise to spend my time doing so. Dweb is home.
It cracks me up how you can't figure out you've been banned from the EE board.
"For some reason I can't post?"
LOL.
I mean seriously, get a clue.

I get blasted for posting more General than technical, especially lately. But wouldn't it be stupid of me to post a little bit of nothing in a technical thread if I have nothing to contribute or to share? I feel stupid just saying "Yeah, I've got the same problem but haven't really diagnosed it" as it is.
So, let's just be glad all this crap is in the right section.
:victory:
You still don't get it do you?
It doesn't just boil down to General vs Tech.
It's about content.
It's about worthless posts, that aren't informative, aren't clever, aren't on topic and aren't even funny.
It's about posts that are the text equivalent of a string of smilies.
I've obviously never had a personal problem with you. I haven't "attacked" you for anything, and we've chatted back and forth.
But if you start cheerleading for the new all-bullshit dweb, in the middle of a discussion about the state of affairs, expect me to respond.
