I am currently running a Sears Die Hard Platinum Marine Group 34m battery in my 2003 DII

I will be running:

Warn 9.5ti

7 Hella 4000's

2 Hella double work lamp

Engel 43

Will the Sears battery be enough, should I supplement or replace with something else?

lololol time for a second battery.

more like get a bigger alternator, a 2nd battery will just save you if yours dies.

unless you run them in series for a healthy 24v+

Second battery gives you more amp-hours. So a second battery is a good idea.

That said its a pain to instal so unless you plan to run all of it at once you'll be ok. Check which alternator you have and most likely it's not the big ass 200Amp (or near that) range rover one. Get one of those from Will or Marty and Upgrade the wire from the alt to the battery with a GOOD quality heavier gauge like 1/0 and proper connectors.

If I go the second battery route... another sears platinum? How should they be wired?

I will look into the alternator.

Thanks

7 lights????

Instead of a double battery set up or alternator you could ditch the Hellas for http://www.southeastoverland.com/in...t_id=276&virtuemart_category_id=109&Itemid=33
Personally I run rigid lights but Steve (southeast overland owner) speaks highly of the lifetime LEDs he has them on his fj cruiser, saw them last October at URE. They are great lights for the money.

I have a marine sears platinum with stock alternator. I've never had issues. I have a warn 9.5 and 3 rigid lights.
If you're dead set on keeping the hella torches I'd suggest a higher output alternator.
Another battery and a dual battery kit will be more money than an alternator or an led bar.

Hook + together on 2 batteries to maintain the 12 v like on my dodge ram diesel

Hooking ground on one to positive on second gives24 v like our gi truck

IN PARALLEL!

But seriously IPF makes a dual battery system that IMO works better in our climate than the national luna. To each their own.

Personally I'd do alternator. You're not going to run the 7 lights for an hour straight are you? The 2nd battery wont give you more power, just longer power.

I hear Mike on the LED swap, which is a good idea, but I can't bring myself to do it. Just looks goofy with a SD style rack.

Lifetime LEDs may be good, but haven't proven themselves to me. I had to send two back to Steve at SEOverland and ended up with one of their soft shackles, their dog leash, and a bunch of pint glasses.

I'd go with the P38a alternator, I hadn't heard of that conversion.

not to beat a dead horse here but as much as I love the SD rack and hellas on the D2, I would vote on going to the LEDs. I actually bought some round LEDs for my yam rhino and they are awesome. I bet you could find some that are the same size as hellas.

But I would just get a p38 alternator if you don't want to convert.

Just thinking here, I know the make LED bulb conversions for a lot of headlights for quads and side by sides. I have no clue if they have them for hellas, but may be worth looking at.

Speaking of alternators..... What's my best bet for a high output D1 alternator? Isn't there some GM part that is compatible?
