Been lurking, finally bought a D1

Hey everyone. I finally bought a Land Rover. It's a 98 with a little over 116k miles. The body is in great shape and the PO basically did a bunch of visual modifications. She needs a lot of maintenance to be tip top again but I think once they are done I'll have a great truck.

Anyway just wanted to say glad to be here and hope to be a more active member on the board.

They ALL need alot of maintenance and you will never be done, but you will have a great truck.

Thanks everyone. Once I saw the truck on craigslist and looked at it, it was exactly what I wanted. Something that had a little bit of mods and pretty much ready to go. And the red really attracted me to it.

I know it will need constant upkeep but I'm pretty good with the whole maintenance deal.

Haha Stamos he was telling me someone was asking to buy just the roof rack, probably was talking about you.

Very true. I have always liked the red ones. I do not like the paint jobs on the Spanish DIs(at least the two I've seen). Saw one in Las Palmas, worst color combination ever! Looked like a hot wheels with blue and yellow.

Welcome to Hell! Just kidding.
One D1 (if you're married) turns into 2 D1's.
Then a range rover classic comes along that you cannot resist, soon you have Will Tillery on speed dial you're hoping and praying PT or one of the other experts on Dweb has seen the problem you are having and has an easy or reasonable fix. You're spelling tires tyres. Your hood is now a bonnet, front fenders are wings, your neighbors are wondering what the hell your doing under the "bonnet" again. You know exactly what the acronyms ARB, OME, RTE, SG, mean. brief rant finished.

I love these vehicles and Dweb is a great help for anything you may need, or for entertainment purposes as well.

Discox2, well I guess I'm ahead of the curve since I knew most of that. Never heard fenders called wings though haha thats new. Also not sure what SG is.
