best current options for radiator, water pump, and fan clutch

I've been reading through the old posts on these topics and wanted to get some current opinions. I'm about to replace the radiator, water pump, and fan clutch on my 96 DI and would like opinions on what are currently the best choices.

I see a number of rads listed on the typical Rover parts sites. Should I be concerned about finding out who the manufacturer is? Are there even multiple manufacturers? I am more interested in cooling performance and longevity than low price. Are there any aftermarket options with better performance? I have not been able to find any thus far.

I assume there are differences in water pumps from various sources. Which has the best impeller design and best reputation for longevity?

Lastly, I'm going to follow this thread for advice on the fan clutch, anyone have additional advice to offer up?

Some of the aftermarket radiators have smaller fill ports on the top that makes draining more difficult. Some have cooler lines that are universal and if one uses bump fittings, one must use the often provided adapters. I have installed MANY of the Modine radiators and am saddened they are no longer available. Shipping of radiators is a crap shoot under the best of conditions.

I have had great luck with inexpensive aftermarket water pumps, but some haven't. Those made by Q-H (Quinton-Hazlett) have worked well for me and even if my wife didn't work for the parent company, I'd still use their pumps.

Fan clutches are gonna wear out. I'm not sure there is any benefit to the NAPA brand over the others available.

Don't forget the hoses as well!

Thanks PT. I already have all of the replacement hoses ready to go.

Any advice on where to find a Q-H pump? The auto parts retailers are getting to be a bit of a crap shoot nowadays, they just sell you what their computer pulls up and sometimes do not know who the manufacturer is.

I would also recommend getting a heavy duty fan clutch and an aluminum fan versus the stock plastic ones.
Course, a HD clutch means mucho water dispersal when wading, but I think the benefits outweigh that slight negative.
