This one still gives me chills..........Maybe it's the bagpipes. Go to a few funerals for soldiers, police, and firemen, and bagpipes mean something different than they used to.

We Were Soldiers......

Hell yeah! That is one moving movie/story. I still remember the first time I saw that movie. It was during the big push into Iraq and I was in a staging area for missions back and forth downrange. The dayroom was full of noisy aircrew and by the end of the movie you could hear a pin drop. We all just stared in silence at the credits rolling by.

the soudtrack to the The Village has some hauntingly beautiful violin on it. i'll echo Braveheart, Last of the Mohicans, and Top Gun.

It's almost a cheat to include musicals, but I will. Tough to say what is best there are all kinds of good ones.

-- Purple Rain
-- 2001 a Space Odyssey
-- Psycho
-- Starwars

Final Fantasy X: Not a movie, but if you managed to play through this without that music getting to you, you have no heart at all. It's got a heck of a lot more story than most movies, and it's a far better romance than Hollywood could manage.

As well, master and commander is an obvious choice for many reasons.

Lord of the Rings had a wonderful soundtrack. I am particularly fond of the Rohan Theme. All the music was great, but this one stands out above the rest, in my opinion. You can't find the real version on Youtube anymore, though.

As well, I was always fond of the songs in Muppett Treasure Island.

Laugh all you want, but you can't say you didn't enjoy that.:D

Call me lame, but I also really like Nightmare Before Christmas; I actually like most soundtracks by Danny Elfman. Every time I go into Blockbuster it's usually on display for sale and it instantly causes me to burst out in song. Until one day the girl behind the counter pleads with me to join the local lesbo choir...I don't sing in public anymore.
