That thing is nice.

As for what to do with it, check the geometry to make sure it's set up properly for the tow vehicle. A lot can be done to adjust things. This is the most important and overlooked aspect of towing.

Here is a link to books that will tell you everything you need to know about that:

http://www.desertwinds.co.uk/

Both the first and third books provide an informative diagram. All you've got to do is make your ratios match Mr. Sheppard's. You should own these books anyway.

I could tell you a few other things that are helpful for trailers, but I don't really want to. It's good already, and there's no sense fucking with it beyond what's needed. Match it with the vehicle and be done with it.

Cheers,

Kennith

Thanks for the advice. I need to get a drop down hitch for the rover. And I may get the tounge/hitch raised to mate better with the lifted Disco.

So how much do you think it is worth?

ps. Trailer is 4 and a half by 9 ft

It's probably a $6-800 trailer is if its new? Looks new - but is it just freshly painted?

I bought a similar trailer with 2 foot high side boards, headboard and metal ramp at back that folds up (highly recommend those) and paid $2100 brand new - but it's 100% galvanized. 2500 pound capacity and 5x11 foot.

Looks like a great rig. I don't how I'd live without mine. I prefer mine over a pick up truck 80% of the time.

I bought it used off Craigslist. When I got it it had a rotten wood box on it and the expanded metal was rusted(just surface)
I spent hours sanding all the rust off and priming and painting. I even cleaned up the eye bolts and replaced the lights. I am still going to add some more lights to the side and rear. I spent about 70.00 bucks on all this. But I

only paid 200.00 for the trailer.

This is the trailer form the Craigslist add

I believe I could cause someone to part with $850-$900 for that trailer.

With flatbed trailers I've found it best to get a tongue mount toolbox to hold straps, chocks and possibly jackstands for the rear. Sides are always helpful if you're carrying loose things. All depends on your needs.

Tongue mount toolbox would be very useful, great Idea.

I have never owned a trailer so I will be learning alot with this project. Any and all input is great.
