As for what to do with it, check the geometry to make sure it's set up properly for the tow vehicle. A lot can be done to adjust things. This is the most important and overlooked aspect of towing.

Both the first and third books provide an informative diagram. All you've got to do is make your ratios match Mr. Sheppard's. You should own these books anyway.
I could tell you a few other things that are helpful for trailers, but I don't really want to. It's good already, and there's no sense fucking with it beyond what's needed. Match it with the vehicle and be done with it.
