Break Controller....Which one do you guys recommend? I have a 03 Disco, with the AB trailer wiring kit.

A smaller wrench:rofl:

Okay...I'll be serious. Isn't the AB wiring kit just a flat 4 pin? That wouldn't have anything integrated for a brake contoller. Try doing a search. There should be some information out there that is useful.

Agree about the prodigy but a Disco II (definitely not a D1) isnt the ideal tow vehicle, and I have had several.

First we should ask though, WTF are you towing????

You are right it really depends on what you are towing. Having said that, it is not uncommon in Europe to see a small family car towing a fairly large caravan on vacation. I think we are a bit more sensitive about towing compared to the Europeans.

I have to agree, what the hell are you towing that has electric brakes with a brake controller? that truck doesn't have the power back there to run the brakes for a 7-pin, you're in for some wiring my friend..

short wheelbase isn't ideal either.. a buddy of mine in a Toyota 4 runner learned the hard way hauling a 24ft travel trailer when the thing took him out on the free way... almost killed him after a strong wind started it swaying and he flipped it..

the one that uhaul sells works just fine. Used to have it in my f150. Haven't towed anything in the disco that needs electric brakes.
