I broke 2 of my wheel studs the other day, not sure how. But anyway, went to the dealership figuring I could buy just the studs, of course it couldn't be that easy. They said I have to buy a whole new hub, for $500!! I read an old post and found out this is somehow true. Bastards!! Does anybody know where I can get one, new or used for cheaper? Thanks.

I may be stupid, but why can't your drill out the stud retapp the hole and install a stud using the high stregth lock tite? I've done it a million times on other studs (mostly head studs). Is there something in the design or material spec. of the stud/ hub that prevents this?

The end of the stud that is in the hub is knurled and there is insufficient clearance behind it to push the stud out without disassembling the hub.

You might also check the for sale section on this site - ask someone who is parting out a truck. I got a hub that way for less than $100.
