Building custom winch bumper

I want to build a winch bumper that looks similar to this. I have a local guy that is going to sell me a factory brush guard for $70 that I will use for the brush guard aspect of the bumper. However, apart from just building one from scratch which I really don't want to do, what bumper could I use for the base to achieve something like that.

I would really love a Devon bumper but they won't ship to the US and I don't feel like tracking someone down in Canada to ship it to me. So the only one I could think that is flush enough to mount the winch in the grille area is the TF bumper. Does anyone else know of one that could serve the same purpose?

There's actually a dude on LRF who is designing/building one and will be "giving away" the drawings for it. I'm waiting to see what happens there before I go ahead and make my own. I'll probably be using the top half of my factory brush guard also. The one in your picture looks a lot like the Terrafirma bumper.

Thanks for the contribution.

Snarky comments are the discoweb way. Smiling or chuckling about it are usually the best ways to cope. Or just let it roll off your back.

The information that is available here makes braving the storm worth it.

Can I view these with MasterCAM? What software?

Edit: will Autodesk Inventor work? I can get that free with a student ID

Seems you would be better off just looking for what you want used, by the time you hack up a factory brush bar and find a way to do it without screwing it up you can get one for about the same money. I sold an RTE with the full brush bar off my RRC a few years ago for about $500, they come up.

You mean you want to buy a bumper and weld that on top?

That was sort of the plan, I know they are somewhat weak but I like the way the factory one looks. I thought about doing the discreat winch mount but there are about a thousand reason in my mind why you wouldn't want to mount one that way.

Yeah, I have been looking around for a used one. I just don't care for the way most of them look. Bill told me they had a Slimline with no bull bar or anything just the base that someone had them make for a certain winch but then backed out that he would let me have for cheap but I just really don't care for the way it looked.

The Tactical Rover one looks okay but those guys must not want my money too damn bad because I have emailed 3 times and called twice and never had them answer or reply to my e-mails.

I kinda was just tossing around this idea, I think it would look pretty similar to the one I posted in the OP, and If I ruin the factory brush bar it is no big deal because I am only paying 70 bucks for it.
