Looks pretty authentic, is there any easy way to truly authenticate it? Also, would you have problems owning that in the states? I know that the 97 Discovery falls under the legal import list, but I'm assuming that means it has to be up to US statndards for safety and emmisions. Damn, I'd love to have one of those.

Land Rover Willow Grove had one on display from the 96 event a few years ago. Holy crap was that thing beat up. One of the coolest trucks I've ever seen though.

I think Skytop Rover in Philly still has that 93 D110 support vehicle from the 94 event for sale. Way out of my price range though.

Add it to my collection? That truck is a collection! Very nice. Not just the truck, but that listing is one of the most detailed looks at a real camel trophy truck. I like how it actually still has some of the gear in the back -- the Defender parts box and all.

PT -- build a rack like that!

I'm not crazy about the lower decalling, but most especially don't like the color of the bonnet's "black-out".

It has the usual split window seals, and rust in the back door's jamb (follow the links and look at the pics of the backseats w/ the stained covers). I think a CT looks better on steel wheels instead of alloys (although correct for a '97).

I do like the non-airbag setup, the sandglow, the SD cage/rack combo (though I'd prefer one of the older Expedition style racks over the '97's kayak mount).

I still really like that Mantec brush-bar best. Too bad it's not easy to come up with one (but, if they were common, it wouldn't be as cool, eh?).

I'd think that the state title is clear, no problem; I just wonder what the feds would think.... if it has the DOT/EPA paperwork to let it stay, or if it is one of the ones that is for "display only", or if it was supposed to leave after a year and didn't....

It'd be a cool one to have, that's for sure....
