Is there any way to connect the EAS Unlock Cable to an iPad? Can one get the EAS Unlock Software onto an iPad or will it only work with Windows?

I want to pick up either a net book or a tablet, like the Samsung Galaxy Tab if not an iPad, to keep in my glove box, which I can connect to the EAS system when needed to clear faults or to recalibrate heights. Has anyone done this yet with a tablet?

From what I understand per Dennis Shupack (Rover Renovations) and Storey Wilson (RSW Solutions), it is only compatible with Windows-based platforms, AS OF NOW. Storey is developing new stuff everyday, so hopefully it will be good for Apple stuff soon.

I doubt the MaxiPad would be capable of being hooked up, and then you would have to write an app to replace the software that is windows based. Other than that it should be a breeze.

PT is right....iPad's have no way of connecting to anything....no USB.

Unless some way it can use the power input????? or headset??????

But - I do love my iPad!...Brilliant.

No USB kind of sucks. I am looking at picking up the Samsung Galaxy now instead. Has anyone connected a tablet to the P38? I can't imagine it would be that much different than connecting a netbook, right?

The issue is really the software. Both iPad and android based tablets can not run binaries that are intended for a windows netbook. Your easiest path would definitely be a windows based tablet/netbook. You will not easily port anything from win32 to linux or iOS. It would be a total rewrite as android is java based using the android java based api and iphone/ipad sh!t is in cocoa (objective-c)

While a sexy looking solution, technically it's just not practical. But if you do rewrite it for android... please keep us posted!
