For years, the only gas I put in the cars has been Conoco; based on some reading about Top Tier gasoline.
About 3 months ago, I thought I'd try the cheap gas with the grocery store fuel points.
Worked just fine, saving 30 - 50 cents per gallon on a 20+ gallon tank seemed like a win!
2 days ago, CEL comes on, truck seems to be "missing"; reduced power, lumpy idle.
Code reader: catalyst damaging misfire, cyliner 8 - blocked or restricted injector
got some Techron Concentrate Plus.
poured into 1/2 tank of gas.
drove home.
idled for a while.
reset code.
idle smooth, no miss.
lesson: don't buy cheap gas.
