chirp under the hood

When you say "chirp" just what does it sound like? A small bird? Or more like a tick?

How bout the PCV hoses? They can sometimes whistle when torn. Might be worth a look.

Not PCV hoses and it is coming from the back of the motor.

i just had the same problem with my 02 disco, i replaced the belt, tension pulley, 2 idler pulleys and when it was all done it was the ds i put on a tom woods front ds and the chirp is long gone.

I can't remember but does the mechanical fan run off the belt?

i had to put it up on the rack at a friends shop, put it in drive and get to 2k rpms to find the problem.

I believe Will Tillery was right. Took it out on the highway and it would not go above 50MPH
