I'm an hour and change from him. I just called him and he is waiting on his nephew to come back from the parts house. Sounds like he is going to be able to get going again

In the bunker
All is good, except we missed our dinner date with Jen and had to reschedule for brunch tomorrow. If any one needs a place to stay in St. Louis, the Hotel Ignacio has my highest recommendation.

Here is what happened with the truck;
I just built this engine about a month ago and I put Summit oil pressure and temp gauges under the HVAC controls. I used a copper oil pressure tubing kit and had to use the upper port on the right side of the front cover for the copper/brass fittings. I retained the factory dash light sending unit in the lower port because clearance issues precluded putting that one in the upper port. This arrangement will not be used again on any of my trucks; I don't trust the idiot light and the somewhat sharp bend on the oil pressure line eventually cost me a half day breakdown.

When we stopped in Clarksville, I did my usual fluid check and leak check, when I saw the oil leak. It looked like it was the factory dash light sending unit, but when I plugged that port it was apparent that the copper tubing/ferrule was leaking. Then I plugged the upper port and waited for our nephew to bring some parts, including a oil pressure line kit with ferrules. I cut off an inch of the copper line, put on a new ferrule, and we were good to go.

I packed all kinds of tools & spares, but I didn't think to bring along a two cent brass oil pressure line ferrule.
