You should have sent me those bare housings by the way and the dimms you needed and I would have hooked that up...

I agree....it would be nice to have all the extra space! My husband is 6'2" and he's the primary driver (read: it's his car...b/c I have the Disco!)...so he wasn't concerned about people in the backseat! Peter, I have never ridden in the jumpseats, though I have friends that love them...if only for the novelty of it!

Rob, good point about the 110! Longer is always better, right? ;)

Kyle, speaking of the MAR (and no, that's not the only thing we do)...are you going to be there? I'd really like to see that winch bumper in person!

Peter, (re:the lock)
Ours is a pain in the neck. It locks up and you have to jiggle it about a million times before it lets free. I'll try to take some pics and get them up on Monday so we can figure it out. Other than the rear liftgat rust, that is the worst part about this truck!

95LWB parted out

Kyle, both rear doors are there, in a very good shape (Alpine White). Inside, the door panels are taken off - some seem to sit in the back of the RR. Right front door is good. Tailgate is not too good, but better than East Coast average.

Rob, the clock is there - but the bezel is gone. Want it?

The rear seat seems to be in decent shape. Front seats are strangers.

If you have Qs, call me on my cell 619 840 0612 - I'm off today, so I won't be on DW for very long.

All I need is the rear doors and inner panels. Shoot me an email when you get back around and we will talk about it more.

I am curious to see how mine wheels. I just bought a 92 after 3 1/2 years of wheeling in a Jeep Wrangler. A LWB would have been too much for me, this thing feels like a bread truck already. Wife loves it almost as much as her DII. I see what you mean about the big steering wheel! I will try her out at the VA4WD event in two weeks then on to MAR, see what she needs next. Steve at Rovertym is building a bumper as we speak...

A stock RRC should be able to drive circles around a stock jeep wrangler off-road. I've compared my '92 to a '95 wrangler. No comparison. You also wheel in comfort, whereas the wranglers are pretty good for beating the hell out of the driver off-road. :p

I bought a 1995 LWB and love it...........

I was looking hard for a nice Discovery Series 1. My brother picks up a nice 1989 SWB Classic and I fell in love with the way it drives. His truck convinced me to look for a Range Rover instead of a Discovery. David at TRG told me the LWB was the way to go. I found a 1995 LWB Classic with 77,000 miles on it. The truck is awesome. The whole family loves it. It has been converted over to OME coils and Bilstein shocks. I just installed 245/75/16 Firestone Destination MT's yesterday. Removed the airdam and running boards and now it has the right look. Can't wait to get it off the beaten path.
Take care,

Len

The only problem that we found in off-road for our '93 RRC LWB is very steep hills and very big rocks ... both are bad, because when our car wants to get up on a steep hill, it can just get stuck by the front or rear ends ... very hard to get it out from that position:

on the big rocks it's the same situation ... or it just sits there on sliders ... much more challenging to drive up to big rocks than with short wheel base (SWB, Disco, D90...) haven't got pictures, but we experienced that in Colorado ;) ... though that's what we were looking for : challenge :D

but otherwise LWB rocks ! Though, we got our not in very good condition mechanically and iterior ...

Depends, I wheeled with a lot of LR friends in my TJ (coil sprung, not the 95 leaf suspension), and the vehicle I pulled out the most was the RR Classic... Stock for stock, I think the Jeep wins on clearance and the tcase that splits front and rear automatically. HAVING SAID THAT...
I swapped for the SWB to get more comfort, and yes my TJ with 4" lift and 33s was a bouncy beating everyday. There are about a billion lifted Jeeps, so I wanted something unique. So far, the RR has gotten the 2" RTE springs and 32s, and I am going to fiddle with it some from there. My goal is to keep the COG as low as possible, for obvious reasons.

Chuck,

I was actually standing right there when that picture was taken. I almost did the same thing the night before. The bank was greasy and it took momentum to get over to the other side. He was just about to roll it, but with the help of a few human balast and a tow strap we got him down off of it.

Yea, I took the picture. I was still in the Black Jeep, with a Red Series III and a white DI in our group. That was a fun weekend, but lots of recoveries, esp. those running all terrains.

There's a LWB down the street from us that sits there as if awaiting a For Sale sign...after wheeling my '88RRC for the first time on a long go out I can say the extra space inside would be nice! With two adults and a big dog it was a cramped weekend for sure (and all the gear, tents, laptop, gps, frs, blah blah blah blah)...a rack is in my future...the FJ and the XJ before the RRC both had them and now I remember why!

Roverlady, did you get the 245's on yet? I'm running them on my '88 with just OME's and bilsteins and the fit is perfect...

Here it is Laborday weekend at the VTXS event on bald Remington Mud Brutes...

And below it is sitting on new MTR's (same size...truck still unwashed since the Pete The Beagle Event)

Chuck, I too came from the Dark Side ;)

I wheeled a very built XJ for the last few years until I decided to stop trying to make a pig sing...not that the XJ was not capable, it was, but it was just...well you know.

As I posted above, just had the first real long trip in the RRC...VERY impressed while even on poor tires. The rig has new sills grafted in so I wasn't worried about damage (well, MORE damage as the pass front door was already beat up when I aquired the truck). The new sills are all 2x4 tube and double as solid slider mounts..found myself sitting on them a few times that trip.

All in all the ride off road and aired down is amazing...so nice, very, well very proper.

Kyle, if the doors fall through and SWB doors will do, let me know, I have 3 doors (2 rear, all alpine white).
