RJ,
Which OME's do you have on your truck? 2" or 3"?

Mediums all around, but they have been on the rig for quite some time I'm guessing...I got the rig in June and it had 203k on it when I aquired it. I know the previous owner and he bought it from Alan RIchter with the OME stuff on it. We just put the HD's on the Green '88 we have in our stable and even with the HD's and 235/85's the green rig sits less than one inch higher then my rig.

If I remember I will take a shot of them next to eachother later.

Ok, that is my med Duty RRC on the left in blue with 245/75/16's...on the right is Grant's Cypress Green '88 with the HD OME and 235/85/16's (all in less than a month ago...)

My rig looks a little cocked but it's just because of the driveway.

Have you guys ever considered making a bracket to move the license plate up on the bumper?
Something like this:

I really don't get why people leave the license plate under the bumper.

I lack a sense of urgency. It's a plate...Well I have an RTE front bumper sitting awaiting instal on the RRC...on most of our FJ's it's actually up on the rack...

When you have 6 different rigs your dealing with on a daily basis, it's usually the more pressing things that get the attention....like my surf racks ;)
Seriously though, I was shocked after wheeling the pig Labor day weekend and not seeing a scratch on the plate...usually it's the first thing to go.

That's cool, 6 trucks is a good deal to handle. I wasn't necessarily picking on you guys personally. I've just seen more than a few classics sporting the bucktooth plate lately.

Well 4 of the rigs are Land Cruisers so there's less work involved LOL!

My husband put the 245/75-16 Dunlop Mud Rovers on the RRC and they are great. Haven't fully flexed her out to check for rubbing, but they fit better than the same size on my Disco! It's got relatively new Bilstein shocks on it (were on there when we bought it) but the springs probably need to be changed. For now though, it's great. And I'm surprised the ride is as good as it is!

Ian, did you make that bracket? We would like to solve the bucktooth problem too, but it's compounded by the front brush guard.....I just wish VA didn't require a front plate.

I just turned the backing plate upside down and made some brackets to hold it up on the bumper. I used the same mounting holes on the bumper so there was no butchery of it if someone wanted to put it back to stock form. You wouldn't need any thing too grand in the way of tools, just an angle grinder, vice, and drill. I had another classic with the factory brush bar and of course it too had buckteeth. I just screwed the plate to the front with stainless steel screws. It sounds like you have a different brush bar though.

As of right now, I have an ARB bumper on that white classic. I neglected to use 4 bolts to hold the plate down so it currently resides at the bottom of some mud pit. They don't seem to mind if you're missing the front plates in MO.

You guys and your silly front liscence plates.
That's why I like living in SC.
On another note...I am about to buy the 93 LWB. How do tire sizes compare to my D1? I was going to put 235/85 or 165/75 on it (RTE 3" lift), but now am going to put them on the Classic. Do they share the same tire sizes?

The RRC's wheel openings tolerate slightly larger tires than D1's, with the same amount of lift. I'd say 1" over is okay. In the rear, tires start to rub on the door weatherstripping.
