Its fun working on the change over years and I prefer the older stuff for sure. Before 1996 you had very little information and diagnostics. It was so primitive and limited but simple, then you get Gems and diagnostics got better and more fluid and you could look at live data in the ecm, still working with a simple system. When we got to bosch it was pretty good, not to complicated or over engineered. Data was more accesible from the tcm, ipack, srs.... But then we started to stray away, we had data and communication across all the modules but everything got harder to diagnose because the systems got more complicated. Step into the 5.0 era and good luck guys, here is a fault, theres a problem upstream but good luck figuring it out because we put to much carp on this thing.
Yah most of the dealers dont have, lost or failed all the T4 machines, they would totaly be museum pieces now anyways. Can you imagine standing there watching it boot up the hard dive
