hi all

want to integrate GPS in my D1 dash by putting it where the ash tray/coin tray is.

obviously the ash tray just pulls out, but how is the coin tray above removed without breaking it?

push the whole unit, it slowly pops out, when it is fully pushed out, push the metal piece located in the back center on the inside of the coin holder and it should come out, push it down firmly to ensure it clears the lip.

isn't that location a little bit too low and too far right to be readable w/o taking your eyes too long from the road?

He means the little cubby above the ash tray I believe.

Use a broad putty knife and carefully slide it in at top and bottom to release the clipper doobies that hold it in place. A hacksaw blade works well too.

I think the coin holder was the result of a brain-fart anyway..talk about useless.
