Coolant Leak

Hey guys. I recently started seeing coolant dripping under 99 disco II. I was able to trace the leak to the back of the engine. It seems to be almost squirting out. Could this be a hose. Or, is this someing much much worse?

How many miles?? How much coolant are you losing per day ? Have you checked the coolant expansion tank yet? Could very well be a hose let loose.

Sounds like the heater core, or one of the hoses going to it. That would be 'best case'.

You could test this yourself by getting a couple of hose pinch clamps, or a couple of vice grips, and pinching off the heater hoses. If you're still leaking, then gotta start looking at the engine -- head gaskets, etc. IMHO

Check your valley gasket.

Definetly not the heater hose or the expansion tank. Talked to land rover, they said it would be leaking inside the car if it were the heater core. What's the valley gasket.

I got a 99 DII (68k) with a coolant leak also, but mine's @ the front pass side of the motor. Just leaking enough to make the motor mount damp & smell. Top off the coolant tank about every other fill up. Dose this sound like the intake? If so how many bananna job is it?

Crawl under the truck and see if it looks like it is draining down from the top of the transmission.

I had a slow leak a while back and it was the intake gasket

They had to remove the intake plenum.

I have heard of others with this same problem so i think it is a common one.

99 Disco are know for leaking coolant out the back of the engine thru the intake maifold.
