Congrats for going against the current liftedfreelander.

Thanks

You too Jupiter Rover, I still like our idea of the "Roo" dog winch, too bad my camera messed up that memory stick otherwise I'd post the pictures. Maybe I'll try it with my dog on the Freelander and post pics of that.

Would you rather the guy be in a jeep?

Actually, yes...

the new Rubicons are pretty damn sweet off the lot. It's when you get the idiots tricking it out like the Barbie mobile and then shedding tears when they have to get their ass pulled out because they didn't build their rig correctly the first time that makes me laugh.

Trust me, I had to pull a prima-donna and her husband in a Wrangler X out of the sand this weekend at the beach. They cut into my fishing time, dammit.

On a side note though: That does look like a pretty sweet Freelander and it's good to see at least someone has made one that is capable and has fun with it on the trails. Sadly, your Freelander can probably go under things and more quickly around turns than my DII can. And yeah, I know you get better gas mileage :)
Looks good though. Glad you had fun at the Rally!

Thanks brother. I've been in San Antonio a few times in it. Maybe we can wheel sometime.

Yeah I'll have to boast about the mileage a little bit.

On the way home from Moab I set my cruise at 83mph and got an average of 21mpg. It would have been better if there hadn't been so many mountains to climb.

Shit the freelander isn't that bad of a little truck, i love my disco, but there was a time when i wanted a freelander as a dd. Most guys I know with a freelander have less problems then the guys I know with disco's. None of them have slipped liners (yet) and they have just as much fun as I do.

I worked at the local dealership for 2 years and those things where the most hated car in the service department. We had some that seemed like they spent more time in the shop than on the road. I'm not a fan of the freelander, but if he is happy and has fun with it than that's all that matters.

I've wheeld with some POS trucks, but at the end of the day all of us had huge smiles on our faces and that's what counts. I would rather wheel with a guy who drives a piece of shit and is safe/ethical, than a guy who is all over the trail in his $100k truck.

I agree, however, my Freelander isn't a piece of shit.
