Will, technical question for you:

All black coolant reservoirs are flimsy, but are all light-colored ones upgraded?

I have two 1998 Discos. One has the black reservoir and I've rolled the dice. The other has a light-colored reservoir that is mounted to a bracket that runs parallel to the axle. Just because it's light-colored does that mean it's upgraded? $22 is pretty damn good, but I'd rather buy other stuff from you if my coolant tank is not the lotto special.

Ive never owned one with a black tank. If tan is an upgrade someone got to my 95 without telling me and I didnt notice, or it was done prior to 1998

the orientation of the tank had something to do with advanced emissions package that started showing up around 97

The off white yellowish ones were made with a thicker plastic and were less likely to bust at the seams... The earlier black ones were a hit or miss. I have seen some on trucks go forever... but I prefer to prevent issues... and this is one that can be prevented easily... and with these cheap.

you were upgraded without knowingly being upgraded... you really need to experience the black one splitting at the seams to appreciate what you have.

Thanks anyway, I'm going to be stripping down the Disco with the black reservoir. That's one part I won't be keeping.
