I have an inflamed tendon in my foot and today my doctor told me I should wear cowboy boots or some other shoes with at least a 1" heel for the next two months. We will see how this goes. I guess I am going cowboy boot shopping.

Check with Double H. Most are made in the USA and have comfy style boots with lots of toe room for your fat nubs. They are a well made boot and a good pair will fetch at least $200. They also make some slip resistant soles that aren't totally gay and have stitched soles.

Justin has some really shitty boots and some decent ones. They use to be far more consistent, but not any more.

Tony Lama, Dan Post and others are decent too.

Lucchese is the very best big name brand you can get. There are some other small bootmakers who make some nice custom boots.

I don't wear boots anymore but when I did, I always wore Red Wing Pecos boots. It's kind of a regional thing that was really popular amongst younger Texans back in the '80s and '90s. They don't make that style now, unfortunately, and you hardly see anybody wearing them anymore.

I think most brands call them "Ropers". I've had a few pairs of those. Slip on boot. Now I wear my Blundstones. Use them for horseback to just kickin' ass in general.

I've had the same pair of cowboy boots for 20 years...picked 'em up in '91 back in Kentucky, I did.
