Please forgive me if this has been discussed elsewhere in this site before, but I just spent all night reading the SYoung thread, so I didnt search the archives.

I am the new owner of a 2000 discovery 2, and the cruise control was non-functioning when I purchased it.
I almost never use cruise control, but it irks me no end to have a broken part on my lovely new toy.
Is there a common problem that might be easy for me to fix?
I may be new to Land Rovers, but I have plenty of shadetree mechanic in my past, so I feel fairly confident that I will be able to understand whatever advise you choose to give.
Thank you all, in advance.

My cruise control stopped working about a year ago. Turned out it was a crack in the vacum hose. I couldn't get a replacement at the time, so I tapped it up with electrical tape and its been running fine ever since.

Check the vacuum hoses. In mine just about every intersection of vacuum hoses were cracked or disconnected. I fixed all that up and.... it still doesn't fucking work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF!

Somehow my question got posted twice in here, so I will now take the time to thank each of the people in this thread that took the time to help.
This site has been a tremendous help, and rather entertaining as well.
