thats something that really depends on the owners driving style and how well it stays lubed. I have over 200k on my rig and have yet to break a CV and then I have a costumer that seems to break a CV every 5th time he goes wheelin cause hes hard on the throttle. As far as daily driving wear goes, the most important thing is keeping it properly lubed with either 90W or my preferred grease pack. A grease pack will minimalize swivel ball leaks and just generally last longer.

204kmi on one truck that does see dirt and rocks regularly, 202, 164, and 136 on three others that don't. I keep spares at hand, though, just in case.

114k on my D2 that I've wheeled the piss out of over the last five years.

I'm easy on the throttle, though.

Roverless or Denny Doler may chime in and say that I'm like an old woman on the throttle, but they LIE. ;)

so how easy is it to lube the CV joints? In the Rave manual? I have aDII and have never seen that in the maintenance schedule. Thanks.

I've got 230K on a set in a '95 Disco that has been wheeled heavily.

I'm a 90 wt man though (I'm a Dapper Dan man, dammit!).

If you keep the water out, oil in and don't hammer on them, they'll last the life of the truck.

That said, I have replaced everything but the block on this truck. The CVs and the block are the only parts that haven't worn out completely. You should hear a transfer case that was run dry at 200K, along with both diffs at 200K+, the din is very unpleasant!

240k on my 95, 235's open diff. heavy on the throttle when necessary. I'm impressed that they've been trouble free so far. Used to run one shot, but 90wt is so much more convenient.

are all NAS D1 cv's identical?
