D1 dead in the 90 degree heat

Dam wife was coming home and the D1 dead on her in the 90 degree heat, once it cooled down it started right back up and drove it home, what the fuck, i know the fuel pump relay back box in the engine compartment is new. anyonr have any ideas.

I would check the two wires going to the crank sensor. When you pull back the heat shielding on the wires, there will be a small piece of electrical tape wrapped around the two tires. Under the electrical tape you will find that the rubber coating on the wires has deteriorated and has left the wires exposed.
