Hello all,
Yesterday my 95 D1 was idling in the driveway 5-10 minutes and died, wouldn't restart. Tried several times, turns over but no start. Today, tried again, fired right up, let it idle 5 minutes, same thing happened. It died and will turn over but no start.
I can hear the fuel pump running and checked for fuel pressure on the fuel rail, fuel sprayed out of the Schrader valve. I haven't had a chance to check for spark yet.
Only change I've made to the ignition system is replace the original distributor with a pertronix distributor. Coil and amplifier are original. If the coil or amplifier are getting hot could these cause the no start? Last time I drove the Rover a few days before, I noticed two very minor split second gaps / loss in power. I've just completed two long trips in 90+ degree/ humid without any issues.
Thank you, KC

I had a similar issue I replaced everything except the distributor. Looks like I had a bad rotor that I had bought to replace the first one I got. I also had to set my top dead center again.

Update on this issue. It's running normal again. I've let it sit idling and driven the vehicle. It's hasn't repeated the problem / shut off. I've checked the coil temp while running, it's cool to the touch.
What are somethings I can test or troubleshoot to prevent reoccurrence?
Thank you,
