What did the new radiator set you back? That is next on my list even though I'm not having overheating problems, I have noticed a little seppage from the seems. At 120K I'm due soon enough.

Ok, I installed the new radiator last weekend, and it is still running warm. It is running a few degrees cooler than before, but still warm. I have noticed it warms up the most between 45-65 mph. At idle it will stay right at 206, which from what I have read is normal. What is causing this to warm up between 45-65?? (210-217 degrees) But above 75 its around 198-199. I am stumped.

pretty sure. followed the rave manual, drove it around the block, coolant dropped about 2/3 of the overflow tank, filled it back up. Heat works just fine, no sloshing noises

how are you testing your temps, if you are folowing the dash gauge you are not getting proper readings..... have you replaced your coolant temp sensor?

I am going off the scan gauge 2, which goes off that stock coolant temp sensor. I was considering changing this next, but I had heard that these rarely, if ever, fail. Do they fail more commonly than I have been lead to believe?

mine is the same. infact, I felt my old thermo was more consistent, but it was also 6 years old

207-210 is normal, and as designed tho I find mine runs constantly 195 to 209

204 is fully opened so how is 207-210 normal?

at lower speeds the fan clutch isnt pulling in enough air, hence youre hottish(?)

at higher speeds airflow is sufficient to keep things cooler..

are you still on the non oe clutch?properly shrouded? if so I suspect that may be a potential issue, but 45-60 does seem plenty fast enough to cool ..

I have the proper shroud on and everything, still have the non oe fan clutch as well. It seems weird that at idle it will stay right around 206-207 at idle, but will raise at speed, but lower once it gets to 70ish. I get that it is going to create more heat as I accelerate, but it will stay at 210-215 at a constant 55mph, and the temp wont lower

This strikes me as odd, but I put lucas fuel system treatment in the truck this afternoon and drove back to Dallas to drop the truck off at an indy shop. After driving the first 100 miles, the temp stayed around 198 on the highway with the a/c on. When I parked the truck outside the shop it went to 204 degrees and didn't budge from there, this was with the a/c going. I sat there for 30+ minutes and just watched it.

Could the injectors being clogged up caused this whole running warm problem, or was this just some fluke that it was running better tonight?

or driving has continued to burp the system.

Maybe, who knows. I guess I should have checked the coolant level before I left the truck there to see if it dropped any.
