Will the front shock towers from a D2 fit on a D1? I don't see why not since I'm running D2 tower securing rings on my D1 towers. Will the clearance heightwise be an issue?

Yes they should fit. Never done it personally but I dont see why not.
Yeah I thought they would. It would be one less part I have to fab or buy new.

Just replaced mine with D2 shock towers and lower mounts from Rovertym an hour ago. Works like a charm.

FWI: Bilstein 7100 shocks are FREAKIN' AWESOME! Well worth every penny. Much better than the regular Bilsteins, OME, and the OME Nitrus Sport!

Done it as well. I personally swapped out the metric hardware and went to standard hardware to match the Fox shocks. A little grinding, drilling and welding and it's done.

someone educate me... why put d2 shock towers on a d1?
D1 shock towers accept pin style shocks. D2 towers accept eye style shocks. Many of the longer travel shocks are only available in eye to eye bushings.

I had to go outside anyway so I did a quick measurement. I get about 9.5 from bottom of flange to bottom of tower on a D1, 10" from bottom of tower to centerline of bolt on D2 tower.
