So I'm working graveyards till I ship up to my new cushy job in about three weeks. Last two nights the temp has got down to -14 F not counting the wind chill. At least its been warming up to a balmy +9 f during the day. Now I know thats not Alaska cold but dam try getting your handcuffs on someone or not freezing to your rifle.

On a plus side my disco seems to work better in the cold. No ABS light, all the door locks work correctly :)

"Damn" as in damnation, a "dam" holds water, but what you are describing sounds "damned" cold.

Carry on.

The cold is why Germans have plastic pistol grips and foreends on their rifles. That winter in Russia made an impression.

My truck is just the opposite. Door locks refuse to cooporate with each other and the rear driver's side door is sticking. and it's only down to 30f here!

Must be that global warming again.
Al Gore can bite me.

Last night my heater went out in my patrol car. I had to finish the night at 0 degF with no heater. I'd much rather the a/c go out in the summer. Holy shit it was cold, and Andrew still has me by 14 degrees.

I know it was cold here in AZ last night because my heat pump couldn't keep up.

Ugh on the no heater. A friend of mine went to Nova Scotia one winter, it was lilke 20-30 below. He arrives in the boondocks (he wired up sawmills) at 10PM and the hotel is closed, no one to be found. He ended up spending the night in the car. I think his nuts are still rattling.

Also reminds me of hunting with my dad when I was a kid in his 45 Willys Flat Fender Jeep. The heaters in those were a joke. You had to remove a boot and put your foot on it, then you might feel a slight twinge of heat. Ad to this a canvas top with no doors. Talk about freezing your ass off.

Sounds like you need a new Dweb sweatshirt.
