I put this here because i didnt want to put in in both the defender and series threads.

Any oppionion on the Defender ARB's?

What about alternatives, must have a winch mount.

I am thinking about getting one for my SIII when i get back from deployment.

Do you know if the Warn 9.5Ti will fit in them?

Why doesnt Rovertyme make them for fuck sake.

Thanks.

I've never seen an ARB that wasn't bent.

The Defender market in the US is tiny and not worth the effort for most fab shops.

I have the ARB on my defender, it's 100x better than the D2 arb and 50x better than the D1 ARB... but not the best out there in my opinion. Rockware makes an amazing bumper, Safari Gard made a nice one, and may be resuming production and Equipe makes a tube bumper which is awesome, but expensive.

I don't like that one in that link, because it does not protect the front fender. I've seen in person two ARB bumpers save a vehicle from alot more damage with a truck flipping over. Mine for one and this truck.
I think the ARB looks good and it's a decent bumper.

I still don't get the whole rotation thing. I've never had one rotate on me. All I do is make sure those bolts are tight as shit. On a few trucks I added oversized washers or square washers in certain areas to lessen the possibility.

The ONLY ARB I have seen in person rotate a little was on a 4Runner and it was yanked REALLY hard with a strap. It was excessive throttle by a bunch of Marine students. It rotated a few inches, but I was expecting it to fly off.

I like my ARB. It's saved me from much carnage in the mall parking lot.

FWIW, the RTE slimline fits a 9.5 Ti like a glove. If you tell them which winch you're gonna use, I believe they will make it to fit.

RTE makes a bumper for a Defender?

Who imports those?

They are sold through Scorpion Racing as well as other shops in the UK, in the US Rovers North carries some of their products. Talk to les and perhaps he can get one for you in his next container.

The best option is Rockware, which does fit the 9.5ti. As said above the ARB is an alright bumper though, but it won't fit a 9.5 ti because the winch mounts feet forward and not feet down so you need a non integrated solenoid winch (XD9000, 9.5 XP, so on). While the ARB is nice looking it has a really bad approach angle, and its made out of thin metal so it will get dents and bend. Defender bumpers don't rotate because they don't mount the same way disco bumpers do.

RTE doesn't make Defender specific stuff. SG may or may not be available, everyone is saying they are back in business and how the new guy is great but they are still blowing me off on the parts they owe me so whatever. But if that's what you want ECR is making replica SG bumpers. Equipe is just as strong as Rockware, but I don't think they look as good on a Defender, and I think it would look strange on a series..

I have one on my 109. Its awesome. Pretty solid and works well.

I have one dent where I jacked a rock at 15 mph. Same rock destroyed a Jeep suspension so I am not too upset. Also the recovery points are a little bent. On top of that there are tons of scratches, etc. I've beat the ever living piss out of my ARB.

If you are going for maximum off road ability, maybe look elsewhere because the bumper has limited me on approach angle a few times. If you are looking for general purpose all around badass then buy the ARB.

Bumper has been hit by two other vehicles. Both times it RAPED the offending vehicle (both accidents happened while truck was parked in parking lot, other people just love to back into that truck) and didn't recieve any damage. I think both times the damage was well over 1500 bucks

The warn winch should fit in it no problem. I've got a Warn 12k in mine and there is still room for a bigger winch. I haven't compared side to side directly but the XP seems smaller than the 12k.

I got my bumper through 4 Wheel Parts America. I think they were pretty cheap and had free shipping. It is a common item that can be had so check around for a good price.

Dude, for your SIII get an Ike bumper. Less expensive than an ARB and better!

Why do you need a bigger bumper? I use Warn's universal mount on my regular bumper. Yeah the Series bumper will fold easily but most Series owners don't do stuff hard enough to warrant the more expensive bumper.

I like the looks of the ARB, but i like Ikes work too and from what i have heard his bumpers are bullet proof.

May go that route, just looking around right now...
