My girl wants one of those Eternity Rings. It is advertised as some type of wedding ring or something. We are not married but she deserves it. I was looking on overstock.com because I'm not made of cheddar. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with them or had any legit websites. Thanks to all the help boys.

Depending on what you get, some of the sites are not worth the effort, since the stuff they carry looks generic and may be commonplace. I would search for a unique item (not necessarily pricy, just something others would not have).

There is always a Pandora bracelet option. Something that can be personalized over time. Just a thought.

I bought a thing or two from Overstock a while back, can't really comment as it wasn't anything memorable.

You look on Steven Singer? He advertises on the Stern show; not sure what exactly is on the site though.

Go to your locally owned jeweler. Not one of those corner stores in the mall or chain stores. Advertized price and sale price are two different things, so don't let the sticker scare you. Pay in cash and get an even bigger discount.

Lab grown diamonds- perfect color and clarity. I got my wife one of these in .75ct then had a local jewler set it in a custom ring. It looks great and she thought it was a good idea cause at the time it was finance a ring or a car. Thankfully my wife has a good head on her shoulders and thought it was a good choice to just go the lab grown route. The fact that it was bigger and clearer then her friends rings helped too.

Asha simulants are zircon. There are labs out there that can grow true carbon diamonds, but they're generally under 4 points and are colored. The technology is not there to grow big, clear, white stones out of carbon in a lab yet.

If you were a real man you would just grab a piece of coal off a conveyor belt at a mine and compress it into a flawless diamond with your bare hand.

When I got engaged I tried online shopping for diamonds. I couldn't do it. For me, the whole process was very personal and I just couldn't bring myself to buy online. I went custom, worked with a local jeweler that has been around for a long time and established a great relationship with them. They have fantastic service, they know who we are when we stop in and they are the first ones I go to.

When I bought my fiancee's engagement ring I went to a local jeweler. It was an experience I'll never forget. I walked in the door, nervous that I had no idea what I was doing and wondering what I was getting into.

Two steps into the store and a smoking hot woman greeted me and asked if I wanted a drink. "We have soda, espresso, water, wine, and beer." I was handed a northwest brew. She asked me to sit down with her in a corner with comfy furniture. A television was showing a hockey game. A giant aquarium was next to that. Another gorgeous woman was at a microscope, working on a setting.

Wow, I thought, this place knows their target audience. After a beer and a get-to-know you chat with the saleswoman I was relaxed and ready to start looking at rings. I ended up with something really distinctive that my fiancee loved. After that experience I'm never going anywhere else. That place has me hooked.

Where is this shangri-la of which you speak? I want to get my wife some nice diamond earrings for our upcoming 5th anniversary.
