Did extensive searching

Did extensive searching but nothing reveals this exact symptom: M & S lights flash / limp-home mode engaged ONLY if reverse is selected. If reverse is not selected lights will not flash and transmission operates normally.

I have tested battery / alternator good.

I have confirmed all terminals / ground good.

I have checked fuses.

Sounds like XYZ switch from most previous posts, but no previous postings ever isolated theirs down to reverse-only.

Ideas??

My money would be on the XYZ switch.

Loosen the bolts and move it around, you'll be fine once you get it adjusted right again.

Do you get an R when you put it in reverse? maybe it just needs adjusted.

I'll try it. Can I get to it without a lift? I can put the truck up on ramps, that's about it here in garage.
