Difference between heads

What's the difference between SAI heads and non SAI heads? They aren't interchangeable at all are they?

The SAI heads have a port machined into them to allow the SAI pipes to connect. The non-SAI heads don't have it machined. They bolt up the same and if you can block the port, you can use a SAI head w/o SAI. You can't do it the other way without removing the SAI system and getting error codes.

The SAI ports are 5/8X 20, if you can find a tap/die, you could make some plugs, otherwise, there are several suggestions as to how to plug them.

WHAT? You didn't do it yourself?

I'd think welding is probably the best way, or threading the SAI adapters for a pipe plug.

finding good cylinder heads isn't the problem, its the blocks.

why would you put any effort into converting sai heads when non sai heads are so common?

unfortunately I wanted to put non SAI on a SAI, but doesn't look like its going to work.
