DII Oil Switch...

Lots of stuff in the archives about D1 oil switches, and part #'s, but nothing for the D2.

Just finished my front seal, front cover gasket, w/p gasket, sump gasket, just to find I still have a leak.:banghead: Now that all the parts are cleaned up, I can see the oil switch on the front cover, clearly pissing oil. The Rave cd shows a oil switch with a multiplug, but mine has a single spade connector on it. (whassup with that?)



Does anyone have a cross referenced part # for Napa, carquest or whatever. Looks like a common 8$ bosch oil switch I see on my VW's...

It's almost certainly the same as on the BMWs. There were two or three variations through the years and that one is the last of the bunch, make sure you get the sealing washer as well. Fix it soon as they have a tendency to leak badly after they've seeped for awhile.

I did find some BMW #'s (61 31 1354 274, and STC4104). So, same as D1 basically.

Most, if not all DIs used a single connection oil pressure switch. It was my understanding that the two pin switch was not used until later in the production of the DII.
