DII or RRC LWB?

LWB. Parts are harder to get, but there's less to go wrong. More unique, because fewer were imported. You can do a lot more and get away with it with a LWB (less electronics).

Again, the biggest downside is parts. Especially the interior. Most everything is either NLA or cost way too much.

So... I had a D2 and a LWB at the same time. I sold the D2.

Full disclosure: I tried selling the LWB so I could get SII. No takers, so I've kept it.

Good luck in whatever you buy. And, remember, no matter which you take, it's still a Land Rover. So be ready to suffer. :D

I've had both. I love my D2 but I miss the LWB. If I were starting from scratch with what I now know it would be a toss-up between a '95 LWB and a D1.

for wheeling or just driving around? I have had a few SWB and two DIIs. The II is more comfortable as a car, but the LWB is a better base to wheel with.

going to do a bit of both. A bit reluctant to do much wheeling with the DII, b/c of the additional technology it has.

I should have kept my 95 DI no sunroof built up rig...

If I could find another RRC with NO RUST and a new blower motor, I'd be all over it.

I prefer the pre-'95 as the '95 is just a dressed up Disco.

Almost 200K miles on the DI, pushing 300K on all the RRCs I own. Yeah, the LWBs are just a smoother ride in all manner of the term.

But, to be honest, I am starting to look for an L322 for the wife. I'll be out of debt except for the Snap-On truck in a few more months and I can just about swing an L322 and the prices will only go down further.
