I currently have a 2" RTE lift with 265/75/16 AT BFG tires. I am planning on upgrading to 255/85/16 which are 33.1" and adding 1" spring spacers. They are taller and narrower than the usual 285s people go with.

Does anyone have any experience with this size on the D2? What do you think of this size?

Thanks for any info,
Jamil

Just for reference the Rover behind me is a more or less stock Freebie. The D-90 is lifted with bigger tires also.

D2 w/255/85 (steelies)

Here's another pic for ya. BFG KM MTs, RTE 3" new generation springs. RTE slimline front w/Warn 15K, Greg Davis rear. Springs have settled about 1/4 in the last couple of months, net lift now is about 3.25".

Nice photo and truck.

Did any of you upgrade the driveline, driveshafts, axles, etc for the new tire size? I am planning on getting new driveshafts. Is there anything else you did when you upgraded?

I have the same Goodrich 255/85 R16 MT KM tires as Noee, mounted on stock alloys. I'm running OME 751s in front and 763s with 1" spacers in the rear. Going to change the rear perches to D1 perches for another 1/2" as well. I have the RTE slimline bumper with Warn 9.5ti winch and RTE sliders and Greg Davis rear bumper. The spacing between the back of the front tires and the point of the slider is a little close for comfort, but so far no rubbing, trimming, or cutting required.

Underneath GBR driveshafts front and rear, GBR HD rear axles, Detroit locker with GBR 4:10s in rear; TruTrac with GBR 4:10 in front. Noee has the same setup in his D2.

What lift did you end up doing?
Is the above picture with 255/85R16 BFG tires have the Rovertym 2"? Does it rub?
What shocks do you have? Do you like the lift kit?
What kind of bumper do you have (F) & (R).
I need some details man!

I agree, it looks great. I can't wait for my 265/75 to wear out. Does the photo show it with the 1" spacer under the RTE springs? Do you think the spacers were necessary?

Thanks.

I have 2" Rovertym springs with 1" Expedition Exchange spacers in the front and 1.5" spacers in the back. I have so much equipment in the back, so I went with the 1.5" to help level things out. I have these with Rancho shocks set on the stiffest setting, and extended stainless steel brake lines. Everything fits well with no rubbing. Front bumper is Rovertym slimline with full brush bar, rear is the Greg Davis bumper.

More pictures of the new setup can be found here:

Jamil,

How is the ride with does tires (255/85/16), if i have OME 751 front srings and OME781 rear with 1.0" expedition exchange spacers and OME shocks i would be able to run this size of tires?

I?m know some of the consequences like, lost of power, etc what mods do I have to do to run this tires safely from suffering consequences.

Thanks,
Peter
