Dipstick Tube!!

Hey!

Any idea how to replace the dipstick tube on a 97 Discovery? I just barely moved it and it broke right at the engine block....

Probably going to have to take the pan off and drive it out from the bottom.

That's what I figured.... it's pressed in the block pretty tightly and there is no real room to grab the end. Thanks!

I'd try and easy-out first, but I doubt it will work. The metal is a little too thin.

not sure about the "press fit"....i've had a couple of them loose enough to just pull out easily....spray some penetrating oil on it and after a while try screwing a large sheet metal screw in it to attempt to pull it out.....might even be ablr to tap threads in it to get a good bolt in and slide hammer it out that way

Slide hammer with tapered threaded end-it's what they're made for.
