Disco I, 3" Lift, Driveshaft Spacer, Steel Safari Wheels, 33x12.50x16 Bfg Mud Km Tire

Disco I, 3" Lift, Driveshaft Spacer, Steel Safari Wheels, 33x12.50x16 Bfg Mud Km Tire

LIFT KIT & TIRES COMBO (94 to 99 Discovery I) or (Early Ranger Rover)
3 inch Suspension Lift Kit
front drive shaft spacer
Steel safari Wheels 5 on 8.5
BFG 33x12.50x16 Mud Terrrain KM1 (custom grooved)

All parts were installed on my 1998 land rover discovery for 4+ years and worked flawlessly. I have taken my rover offroad and have traveled cross country with this system and it worked great. This is a complete system with tires and wheels to match, just install everything that transforms your rover into an offroad delight.

During installtion I did not even use a coil spring compressor believe it or not! I just disassembled the front springs, shocks and antisway bar. Then used the furnished landrover hydrolic bottle jack between the frame and axle to install the lift. Whole project took 4 hours to install lift, spacer and wheels with mud tires.
1000.00 usd OBO shipping not included.

Located in Indianpolis, IN area 46038
Also know as Fishers, Indiana

.....Also have a 98 disco MAF, 8 injectors, Wabco ABS Controller, Distributor coil packs.....

Not really willing to seperate at this time..... due to the fact this is a complete system I would like for someone with a stock rover to step up and convert their rover to an offroad machine......if not I will buy one for 2500 and sell it with this stuff on it.

more info per email I've recieved:
I only have the four safari wheels, they came off of a mid 70's series 109. I originally used these wheels as spares when I would go on a big offroad trips or go for a multiple day/week vacation cross country. I have since sold the disco and the person wanted it stock so I took off all the lift and wheels and tires for her and mounted the five stock wheels and tires on the original aluminum wheels before she picked it up.

Now I don't have pictures yet loaded of the tires and their treads, but I am an avid four wheeler did custom groove them so that the center of the tire looks more like a dirt bike tire with more room to conform to the terrain. The tires all mathch BFG KM1 MUD TERRAINS and I would say have at least half tread. They are not rollers by any means. I rode on them in a used state for almost four years and have never even seen wear on them.....It might be cause the rover is so light, but I did pay for an allignment when I put the lift on and about every onther year after that just to keep things simple for my woman and its drivability. They have served me well and grab some real attention around town is all I can stress (my rover was wheeled not sent to the grocery store or to the mall). The tire have no plugs in any of the tires and have never had any issues with blowing beads while out wheeling at 10 psi.

I would really like to sell the package together because for a grand you can make a disco or a range rover classic completly bad ass and ready to wheel. I did cut some of the rear of the rear fender sheet metal, but nothing more than a 1/2 inch and it still looked stock (see the tech section).

The tires did in fact rub on full keal, but I changed the steering stops so they would not hit, nothing major..... once again for the girl. I also ran without sway bars for 4 years doing 70mph + on the expressway without any problems.

ps I am driving to Cincy from Indy on the evening of the 24th and will be heading back to indy on the day of the 26th, if that helps you at all then let me know.

My idea would be to get a 94 or 95 manual 5speed Disco or a short wheel base RRC and put this lift, spacer and tires on then lockright the front and rear and wheel......forget sheet metal, forget keeping the rover clean, these disco's just drop in price like no other vehicle and by my opinion if you really want to go out and have fun you need to build it to beat on it in order to have fun and not to worry about the looks of your poor rover. Thats how I kept my 50th anniversary SE7. People would look at me funny when I would show up to the trails and woop their ass with dainty pretty little land rover.....ha ha ha, it had scratchs all over the thing and dents here and there fron hardcore wheeling..... I felt it just gave it character.

seriously? you have people interested in the parts, why dont you just start getting rid of it? sorry, i guess i just dont get why you would go through the trouble of trying to find a $2500 D1, spending the time and effort to put all this stuff on, and trying to make a profit, when we all know that rarely works. just sell the freakin stuff.

Yea man all I would want would be the springs....maybe if you get an offer for each individual part you will see that nobody wants a whole lot of stuff they dont need.

Yea, it may have worked flawlessly but I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say it didn't look as flawless;)

I guess it's worth $1000 though... I dunno.

hate to bust your bubble twice, but a 3" lift and 33 inch tires doesnt exactly make a D1 a "machine". With a 3" lift, you might be looking at driveline issues, and you will more than likely need new trailing arms, if not radius arms as well. and 33s...wheel them hard enough and you'll be dropping more cash into HD axles and driveshafts.

all parts were installed on your 98 for 4 years, including a cross country trip...hmm, i hope this does not include the tires.

im not trying to diss you or poison your thread, just trying to make you see that your ad claiming "a complete kit to make your D1 an offroad machine" isnt exactly just that. split it up and make some money.

Re: Disco I, 3" Lift, Driveshaft Spacer, Steel Safari Wheels, 33x12.50x16 Bfg Mud Km Tire

Maybe I should have been more specific ealier in my post....sorry for any confussion.:patriot:
The whole idea here folks is that maybe someone around the Indiana area would want the whole shabang and for a 3" lift kit including the front driveshaft spacer, wheels and tires......one would be way ahead going this route as opposed to sourcing all the parts seperatly or buying them new. I never broke a driveshaft or a axle shaft so I can't say what someone else's rover like Varova87's will do, but I wheeled it hard enough to hang with my friends that all had hardcore rigs.....and your right if you have a hectic wheeling style you will grenade a axle shaft pretty quick with 33's and a locker (ujoints I just stay up-to-date on so I don't have to worry about those).

As for this setup not looking good user Benlittle, not sure where that came from? Myself and all of my friends thought it was pretty cool looking, but maybe that was the just because it had misc dents, tinted windows and dual 15" with 2300 watts in the back.....hahahahah.

I did NOT have the BFG tires mounted for very long at all (especially on long trips, I used the aluminum castor wheels with the original Michelin XPC tires), the majority of the time I had some P305x75xR16's Goodyear High Milers on it that were originally on the steel wheels from a Series 109. Later I found the 33x12.50x16 BFG mud terrains here locally and mounted them on the original aluminum castor wheels for about a month before I decided to ditch the High Milers and mount the BFG's on the steelies.....thats the setup Im left with today in my garage. My rover was sold with the aluminum castor wheels on it that had XPC michelin tires.

Around Indy there are old Range's (lwb and swb) and DI's that go for a grand. There are also nicer ones up to 2500 or 2800 here as well......as for time to put this equipment back on the truck it would be approximately 3 hours of my time.....wooo hoooo.......hello :seeya: its called sweat equity and we all know gearheads have to be working on something!

Right now I have no desire to split this stuff up, it takes too much time to negotiate all of the details, shipping and you are always left with something someone doesn't want.....if I run out of room to store this stuff then maybe I would split them up, but right now either someone that has a rover can lift it and put tires on or I will get another rover and put this stuff back on again when I find the time. I don't want anyone to think that this setup is THE BEST IN THE WORLD, I just want to say this was a great setup for all of the trails I hit with the family.

Now Varova87 just so you know the 1998 DI I had was wheeled with a rear lockright, 3inch lift, front DS spacer, and the 33 BFG's. It took me, my family and gear everyere I needed it to at Haspin Acres, Redbird and at The Badlands offroad park. Other parts on the rig were magnacore wires, headers, freeflow exhaust and of course a High Lift. I have since moved on to "hardcore" wheeling and am alot happier trailering my shit to the trails and back. My setup now is a sammy tube buggy for my girl and her friends and a CJ-8 one ton cralwer with SBC dana 60's and 44" boggers for me.....both go on the gooseneck together and we love it. :D

So to conclude, if you would like this whole setup I have detailed all of the modifications for you and showed you the pictures of what my rover looked like with it on. My rover did great and did not have issues with drivetrain, but I have wheeled for over a decade and know camel trophying it up a stubburn hill will not suffice and you can say bub-by to your drive train at that point......but are we here reading this because you want to learn how to wheel your rover....or do you want to buy some freakin hardware so you can finally through your CDL and go wheeling????

also remember the parts below I will seperate:
disco 4.0 MAF
disco 4.0 injectors
disco 4.0 Wabco ABS Controller
dicos 4.0 Distributor coil packs
