That rear diff is going to be a frequent warranty item with all the bi-curious glider pilots having no idea how they operate.

It's probably the same idiot proof rear locker. If the terrain response is turned on the rear diff will lock when something slips. The rear winch will be getting fucked up for sure. If it ever gets used.

Eventually you guys will have to come to understand this is how all vehicles will look and be built.

Manufacturers are not going to spend millions to incorporate usdot items on a utility vehicle just so .5% of the US consumer base will buy it.

find a new hobby! Like making artisanal mayonnaise or making organic beard oils.

Mike, this is perfect!

I think its safe to say Land Rover has lost its way as a enthusiast brand. Hold tight to your classic rovers, they are not getting any younger. I can't wait to see the new Defender, Probably will be shaped like an aerodynamic dildo.

What's up with a port hold? Never heard of that.

I'm thinking the rear winch will become an accessory and we'll be installing it like a trailer hitch.

The dealership has filed for bankruptcy. Back in April or May, the bank repossessed all of the car. We were put on port hold (no cars delivered to the dealership), and parts hold (parts must be paid for to order). They weren't paying the staff or any vendors. It was pretty crazy for a while. They finally filed chapter 11 which made everything go back to normal for the most part. Once they filed we were closed for two weeks because they weren't paying into workman's comp insurance.

That's gotta suck. Isn't this a dealer you left for same kind of crap and then came back after they got stuff going again? Didn't you tell me it was like a Russian circus around there?

It's definitely a Russian circus. I switched to Maserati back in January, but my manager quit after not getting paid for 5 weeks, so Maserati has been dead since. Since they filed for bankruptcy I've been mostly just doing Land Rover. We went from 30 techs to about 12, so it is easy to make money.

Have you seen any problems yet with the new Discovery? How about Velars? Seen that yet? I think it does prettty well with the new inginium 2.0 in it.

We had a sunroof in a Velar bind up and spit a spring out of the front air deflector. Outside of that no problems here.

Since we have been on port hold for so long we haven't had/sold and of the new Discoverys. Somehow we got a Velar, but thats the only one. It's the Range Rover for people who order the second cheapest bottle of wine at the restaurant.

That sounds about right on the Velar. A couple of them I PDI'ed stickerd out at 60ish. I kind of like it though. It's a good size and light enough that the new 2.0 moves it pretty well.

The one we had I thought was over $90k, but I might be wrong.

We had one sticker rd out like that too. Big range in price. At 60 you don't even get ball coolers.

It's built on the Fpace platform. So hopefully they figured some stuff out from all that pain n suffering.
