Wondering if anyone can assist me with a problem of faulty door lock actuators on my 2000MY NAS DII. Both driver side and the front passenger doors will lock but not unlock with either the fob or the dash button. It sounds like the actuator motors are operating but they just dont pop up the button or unlock the doors. All doors except the driver door will lock normally. I suppose I need new actuators. Who has the best price on these? Thanks.

Jeff

There is plenty of information on these if you do a search.

roverparts.com (AB) has competitive pricing.. some others like rovers north...

if you don't mind used parts, they can be had on ebay or from some people on this board.. most people rave about Will Tillery on here ... roverguy.com

Thanks for the info. I did do a search but didnt really find any threads that spoke of this exact problem. Maybe I didnt phrase my search properly. I also have an e-mail into Will. I do want new as I think these actuators must give it up over a period of time. Thanks again

Just replace and be done with it. The first one takes about 3 hours and the next one takes about 1/2 the time. I get mine from roverconnection.com

if you don't have the Rave CD (search) then download it and save yourself the headache of figuring out how to get to the actuator.. especially the front doors..

you have to take the glass and window frame out to get to it..

the rear tail door is a breeze...

In my side i took them off the doors, put them into a industrial cleaner solution with my compressor i insert air bubles for many minutes, let them slowly desolve the dirth after i put again an industrial rust solvent clean again with air ... put good mineral oil to lub every component and got no troubles for years now..DONT use grease if you are in a cold area you ll get more trouble

I thought these were sealed units. You can get into them?

Liquid will go true dont worry, i have a disco 2 2000 and had the same problem as you do...it did the job...use acetone to clean it is great and compatible with indutrial cleaner....will disolve dirth You can use electrical cleaner as well ...you choice...you can use graphite in spray if you dont have oil.....mineral or transmission oil is very stable too
