Ok, don't flame me I did do a search but could not find the answer to a simple question. I have a 2002 rover and want to replace the EAS computer. Do I have to remove the passenger side seat to swap out the computer? Don't worry the spring conversion kit is on it way. Thanks as always

ok one more stupid question. Do I have to pull out the driver side seat? Any other tricks would be a great help. My wife is nagging me because she does not like the supper fun bounce ride, She is such a whip. thanks

It's not the easiest thing to get to, but if you have an offset screwdriver, or other means to get those pesky philips head screws out, you'll be fine.

Move seat as far back as it will go, remove trim. Under the seat, there is a piece of black plastic that covers the ABS, EAT, and EAS computers. IIRC, the one in front on the bottom is the EAS ECU. Should only have one screw holding it in position.

Ok slapped in the new computer and the rover did not raise, rats. I was hoping to get lucky. I started poking around and the air compressor is very week. Any idea's on how to test a compressor or just get some air in the bags so my nagging wife can drive her Rover. Thanks

Can an EAS computer be simply swapped out? Is it a simple plug and play or does it require some kind of secret electronic handshake to get it to work?

you need to calibrate the heights, clear codes. once in awhile I have gotten lucky where one of my test units will work off the bat but with out resolving the issues in the system, unce the test unit recognises the issues in the system and stores the hard codes it reverts to limp mode and return to square one.
so a proper answer is no it is not as simple as a swap.

You could go to NAPA and buy the fittings. But by the sounds of it up to yet, you may be better purchasing a complete kit with instructions.
There are so many posts all around about bypassing the valve block etc, that it makes it pretty obvious you have not searched for yourself bud.
The software to read the codes in the EAS is totally free too, so you wasted some time and money with the ecm swap.
Do a little research and save yourself a fortune before it's too late.
You can rebuild the EAS system for less than the coil "conversions" cost. Not to mention it will still be OEM, and keep the value. I as well as many others would not pay top dollar for a coil'd P38.
