Electric CDL - AMV or ???

Hey all. I put an electric CDL kit in my 01 Disco many many moons ago and I have recently broken the solenoid. I cannot remeber if it was an AMV, but I am pretty sure it did not come with all of the stuff I see on their website. So, my question is whether it is for sure an AMV, because they are the only ones, or if there is another company that made them in the past. Thanks for any help.

check to see if the solonoid is a window motor. IIRC one kit uses a window motor to operate it.

Thank you for clearing up the IIRC. The jury is still out on retardation...

Just to be clear, since I am NOT one of the paranoid electrical widget haters, the solenoid has worked flawlessly for years, through thick and thin. It has become physically broken and needs to be replaced, along with several other parts that were damaged at the same time. I plan on keeping the electrical kit in since it has been very reliable.

I will look into the window motor thing, thanks for the info.

Diesels don't need computers. Mines not running right now because we are waiting for a new injector pump. Damn biodiesel ate it up. Going back to the corner Chevron Tetco for the fuel from now on.
