Does anyone know the proper orientation so they don't leak - I was reading an article (engine rebuilding site) which I cannot find now that illustrated the proper way they go on - both for manifold and y pipe since one side has raised indents.

Thanks -

You are asking about the exhaust manifold gasket and then the exhaust manifold to y-pipe? FWIW The exhaust manifold gaskets I received had no indentions on either side, you may have to flip them around but whatever you do the connecting strip from port to port need to be on bottom. If it's on top you won't be able to install plug wires. The y-pipe to manifold gasket I received with my aftermarket cat/y-pipe had bumps on the face and a slight lip facing away from the bumps. I installed the bumps facing toward the manifold.

You only have one choice on manifold gaskets and that is the correct way or incorrect.... the incorrect way will cause you to be upside down and /or no lining of holes. The ypipe gasket is the smooth side down on the ypipes.

Also be sure the orientation of the a is before the u....:)
